Up to 2 miles

We have extended the walk. It's about 2 miles now. I don't think I have lost any weight but I sure feel good. I'm going to start weighting each week. I don't want to but I'll post it here each week. We should get to 3.5 miles in about two weeks. And we are walking 7 days a week. We're going to take a break July 19th, we plan to ride the tail of the dragon on our bikes. It's near Robbinsville, North Carolina. It's 318 curves in 11 miles. We will then stay at Buck Creek and ride the mountain areas. Bobby just got a divorce and is dating a 22 year old. He's 51 year old. It will be interesting to see how Sissy and Dorthy, David girlfriend, get along with her. Happy walking and riding!

New Walking Route

The Fluidity looks like a stretching machine or platform? You need to post action shots of you on it. Is there a set routine of exercising moves for it? Strange looking thing? But if it works, that's all that matters. Another bikeriding friend of ours, Bobby, wants to walk with us. We decided to walk from his house, which is about 1 mile from my house on Fountain Bridge Road. And guess what, we now have a real address. We got 911 service in Randolph County so our address is 2908 Fountain Bridge Road. We will still use the P.O. Box in town for now. Back to our walking, our new route is from Bobby's house on District Line Road to Lower Shellman road and back, 1.5 miles. In a couple of weeks, we will extend it to Hwy 82 and back and it will be 3.5 miles. From walking this route, I have noticed the roads are trashy. In the city, the streets are clean. But in the country, people throw anything out of their cars. They sure drink a lot of beer! And they are buying it from Carter's Drive thru!

cool :-)

Hi Dad....awesome that you and David started walking.... :-) Here is the Fluidity pic (from their website)...I am still on the beginner's level....trying to get where I do the gym one day, and Fluidity next for 5-6 days in the row....haven't achieved that yet, but I am still trying....can't really report any results. However I do notice it becoming more difficult to raise my heart rate to its previous level (which is actually a sign of increased fitness - darn it!). That just means I have to work harder to achieve the same results....*sigh*....

Walking

June 19, 2008, 715 am. Well, I started walking today. A bikerider friend of mine, David, wanted to start walking before work. It's a 2 mile route. We start at Carter's and walk around downtown. For now, it's Monday thru Friday. It's a start.

You Fell !?!

Hi Dad! You fell off the roof!?! That is awful. At least the padding helps, hehe. Glad you didn't break anything though. :-(

My training was stalled this week too....been shopping instead. (That counts a little bit. :-))....I finally ordered my bed, so this weekend I will be sleeping like a baby.

Fluidity pics coming soon....

Any Fluidity Photos?

A bike sounds like a good ideal. A motorbike would be even better. Do you have any pictures of this Fluidity thing? Fluidity, the name looks like the name of mutual funds Sissy and I owned? How does it work? I fell off the roof and ladder so I'm sore. Roof, ladder, fat man. Not a good combination. So the training is on hold for a few days.

New Toy

LOL. You're a pretty good blogger dad. Maybe you would like bike riding....that is technically sitting. :-) But I know what you mean. I like to relax too (which is a good thing some of the time). Fluidity arrived today. I am so excited. It seems too bulky to put away and take out every time I want to use it...so I will just leave it out. Probably will use it more that way anyways. I am picking up a desk I found on Craig's list tomorrow, and then off to Mary's in Stockton for the weekend...so my new toy will have to wait until Sunday night. Or maybe I will try it right now....no time like the present....

Dad's First Post

Well, saying a few pounds to lose might not be the truth. So let's call that a lie. And as far as training goes, I'm glad you enjoy training, because I hate it. I would rather be sitting in a boat, sitting at our pond, sitting in front of the TV, sitting in a duck blind, sitting on our front porch in Buck Creek. I think you get the sitting point. So I must overcome the weight and training issues. But in my favor, when I have make up my mind to do something, it must be done. I see, hear, and smell Kilimanjaro every waking moment and can't get it out of my head. Like the saying of Yodi in Star Wars movie, TRY NOT, DO or DO NOT! So it's DO!

Kilimanjaro

Some dreams take longer than others.....

It begins with training.........

So far, I have started training at 24 Hour Fitness Club. Who knew I would actually like working out in a gym?? I think every other day at the gym will be enough for now. I like the treadmill and StairClimber. :-) Today I bought something I couldn't afford but really wanted anyways: I bought FLUIDITY. :-) I always wanted a ballet bar (yes, this is true) in my home. I love to stretch...Fluidity is the next best thing (maybe even better, portable). I will use the Fluidity bar for my strength training and stretching for now.
